Winter Equipment List:

  • Map

  • Compass

  • GPS

  • Head torch

  • Whistle

  • Suitable boots for conditions (must take crampons if required by conditions, Grade B1, B2 or B3)

  • Wicking base layer(s)

  • Outer waterproof/windproof shell (Goretex, Paramo etc)

  • Gaiters

  • Headgear

  • Balaclava

  • Gloves, overgloves or mitts and overmitts

  • Large polythene survival bag or/and survival shelter

  • Ice axe (if required by conditions)

  • Crampons (if required by conditions)

  • Goggles (if required by conditions)

  • First aid kit

  • Food and Drink (as required by conditions)

  • Change of clothes to be left in bus for return

 

Your ice axe and crampons can always be left on the bus if not required but those without will be left behind if it is possible that they may be required.

Members are asked to ensure that ice axes and crampons are carried safely and that points are protected when not in use to avoid injury to others or damage to people's belongings especially when in the bus.
